Iran says it will honor the deal if it receives economic benefits
Iran’s state-run news agency says the hardliners submitted a bill to parliament on Saturday.
The bill calls for the government to accelerate its nuclear development activities, including uranium enrichment, if the talks with Britain, France and Germany fail to produce results within one month. They are set to begin this Tuesday.
The 3 European countries are signatories to the agreement and hope to maintain it.
Iran says it will honor the deal if it receives economic benefits, such as investments from Europe, despite the US announcement that it was resuming its sanctions.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, indicated on Wednesday that his country may leave the deal if its national interests are not guaranteed.
Meanwhile China has agreed to maintain the deal as it is.
Zarif is scheduled to talk with Russia on Monday about the nuclear deal. He will also have similar discussions with France, Germany and Britain on Tuesday.
