The minister of religious affair of the government of Somalia has announced late on Friday the country will start their Eid Fitri tomorrow Saturday 23 of May. The announcement late into the night has surprised many as normally Eid is announced before the Isha (night) prayer.

There were many celebrations with Somalis taking it to the social and congratulating each other and also forgiving others.

Somalia has, for the first time took the lead on Eid announcements as it was customeray to follow other stable countries for important religious events like this.

The president of Somalia Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo has asked all Somalis to forgive each other and take their country forward untill they achieved complete independence from terror groups and internal enemies.

The Prime minister Hassan Ali has also urged Somalis to stand firm because of the challenges that the country faced.
